The Reception at the Hunterian Museum on Wednesday 10th April and the Conference Dinner on the 11th of April can only be booked as part of your registration.

Reception on Wednesday 10th April at 6.00 p.m. at the Hunterian Museum                                                                             Fully Booked

Founded in 1807, The Hunterian is Scotland’s oldest public museum and one of Scotland’s most important cultural assets. William Hunter’s original collection was assembled to improve knowledge of the world and was rich in rare and important objects. The collections are today recognised as a Collection of National Significance. Delegates will be welcomed by Professor Anton Muscatelli, Principal of the University, and Professor David Gaimster, Director of the Hunterian Museum, and will have full access to the galleries in the magnificent 1870s Gilbert Scott building.

Dinner and Ceilidh at Òran Mór on Thursday 11th April at 7.00 p.m
                                                                                                £50

The conference dinner will be held in the stunning Auditorium of Òran Mór, a beautifully converted church near the University.  The three-course dinner, including welcome drinks and wine, will be followed by a traditional Scottish ceilidh dance where all are welcome and encouraged to dance the night away to the traditional tunes of the ceilidh band. The ceilidh is a traditional Scottish after-dinner dance that assumes many of the participants are novices.  The band leader (or caller) gives rigorous instruction on how it all works! Òran Mór also has a bar where you can relax and catch up with colleagues and friends into the wee hours.
